Actually its been associated with ancient rome... When romans would go to the colisium for the game, food was only served to those that were well off or of some importance.. So roman people would bring food in there carts and sit outside the colisium and eat before they went inside.... Atleast thats what the history channel said...
I personaly think it was started in the parking lot of the Oakland Colisium were the true raiders battled years ago...
