workers comp was paying me 780.00 every two weeks my wife and 2 kids lived off of this fine now they said they have to pay my child support out of my workers comp check so they cut payments down to 452.00 every 2 weeks. is this legal when i'm working full time I ONLY pay 109.50 everyweek. DON'T GET ME WRONG I AM NOT A DEADBEET DAD! I just can't see my family living off of this amount we get now. I've had to resort to churchs paying rent, neighborhoodcenters paying utility bills and such but they will only help once. I'm at the end of my rope please help!

My knee is severly hurt I just had surgery 3 days ago and my current wife is 20 weeks pregneant if she works who watches the other 2 children? I wasn't saying my other child don't deserve any money but I guess some women can't get over a guy who actually works hard to take care of his **** I usually work 80 to 100 hours a week when i'm not on workers comp I'm not trying to cheat the system either just a honest hard working guy with a question i didn't know the answer to till these first 8 people showed me what this really is about when they work a real days work in there life feel free to step up and talk some ****

Yes it's legal. How are your other children supposed to live?

Can't your current wife work in order to support your new family?

I am afraid so. They are probably going to take out more for the next couple of checks to make up for the amount they were not taking out earlier. The only way to stop this is to file for a hearing in family court to get the amount reduced while you are on worker's comp. The motion not go through until after you are off of worker's comp. The only other alternative is to rehab as quick as possible and get back to work. Also you might want to have your wife find a job in the meantime.

YES YES YES YES... what about your other kids. Time for your wife to go get a job if you are really injured...otherwise get off workers comp and go back to work!

You need to find out who authorized the garnish of your comp check. Most likely it came from a court order and if so, yes it is legal, from their standpoint. You may need to appeal to family court.

the worst thing for a back is to sit in front of a computer. you are a deadbeat dad and now you are a freeloader too. bang the Mrs. and get in the pool. you will be back at work in two weeks. beware, the insurance company cameras are watching you.
