It gives us a reason to live. Material things just don't suffice but love is the greatest thing a human could have. This is why we see so much killing and suicides because these particular individuals probably didn't feel loved. Look at how powerful love is, I mean just the word it self.

Humans don't necessarily need to be loved. What humans need is something TO love. It is possible to live without receiving love from someone or something. But even inmates in solitary will try and find something to give love to. A mouse, an insect, a fly, anything to let the emotion out. It is more important for the human psyche to give love than to receive it. That's the problem with sociopaths, they may have someone who loves them, but they cannot return the feeling. That is the root of their illness.

because humans strive to be perfect, in every aspect, especially in love. unconditional love is desired and needed because in a way, it is regarded as the "perfect love". the wife wouldnt get mad if the husband promised to do this but didnt..or if one forgot to get presents or book dinner for their anniversary. although this is stressful , conditional love is still very common. but because humans try to achieve that ultimate goal...the uniqueness that everyone else wishes or envys..thats why unconditional love is needed

God designed us with the need to love and be loved. Often, it is when we don't feel loved by other people that we look to heaven.
