Yes, it is possible - no alternative to avoid getting Trojans, except not using the 'net. Anytime you access the Internet, you are opening your PC up for possible infection. That's why you have got to protect yourself. Do you keep your malware programs updated and the virus definitions updated as well? Windows Update, when was the last time you did that?
Are you sure that the culprit was the warez site? Do you download freebies? Music, videos, programs, screen savers, avatars, graphics, etc,... guess what you are probably downloading with the free stuff...? Do you scan everything you download before you open it?
You may like warez sites, but WHERE d'ya think they come from? Stay far away from them, else you'll be spending much time and money repairing your PC.
Oh yeah, don't try it on a MAC - curiosity got to me as well as MAC arrogance. I visited a warez site KNOWING that the chance of my MAC getting infected was practically nil (114,000 PC viruses vs 85 MAC viruses) and tempting the fates, my AV program caught a Trojan downloader.

No, the main culprit is YOU! You're the one who downloaded a file and then opened it or played it BEFORE you scanned it for viruses! So don't blame anything or anyone but yourself. You MUST scan any file you download, wither it comes from warez or your grandma, BEFORE YOU OPEN IT! You've got the tools, learn to use them... You can use Warez or any site, bottom line though SCAN IT BEFORE YOU OPEN/PLAY IT!!!!!!!!!! Then, you'll never ever be infected. good luck :-)

You should probably stop going to warez sites if you don't want trojans. Regardless of browser.
