I have discovered I am much larger than I was in the 80s!! I am tall, and found the one pair of stirrup pants I ever owned. They still fit, but they show off the belly that wasn't there 20 years ago! Any suggestions to minimize this??

For shoes, I will be on my feet most of the day so there is NO WAY am I wearing heels! Due to AA width on my feet, shoes are difficult to find and on the expensive side. Any suggestions? It may be cheaper to buy a short jean skirt (thank goodness this is only for Halloween!!!).

HELP!!!

A big baggy sweater or a baggy mens button-up plaid shirt will be a good choice. Also, wear socks that match the stirrup pants and either "ked" like shoes or flat ankle boots. Be sure to poof your hair up big and wear a big bow in it.

Have fun!!

a really gaudy knit sweater... and then try to take the attention away from the tum by wearing bright leggings or dying your hair something exotic..... a tye-dye shirt works wonders too... the big pattern hides the extra baggage. If you go with the sweater, get a large neck so that one side hangs off your shoulder, and have a brightly colored tank strap showing.
For shoes, I'd wear some kind of slip on or simple slipper shoes. You can go to payless and get a pair of granny slippers (the satin ones)... they're really floppy and flexible so any foot can fit. They usually have a small bow towards the front, know the ones I'm talkin' about?
I'd stay away from the skirt.... you'll be SO UNCOMFORTABLE all day-especially if you're doing a lot of walking! YOU GO GIRL! LONG LIVE THE 80's!

80s Stirrup Pants

Go with the stirrup pants...you don't need to wear heels, you can wear other shoes, like lace ups. Wear your socks over the pants, rolled down at the ankle. Then wear a long over-sized sweater with a deep v-neck and a tank top underneath the sweater. I can't even tell you how many times I wore this exact outfit in the 80s. :) Have fun!

I love this question. K, your gonna need some leg warmers, because they were soooo cool, and for the belly that wasn't there thing just add one of those long tuxedo shirts with a wide belt. And don't forget the bangles and all the jewellery you can get your hands on. Think Madonna when she first started out, you will be so 80's you'll make people sick, or they'll go "oh yeah I remember those". Have fun.

It looks like your belly dilemma has been answered pretty well. I remember BIG shoulder pads, patent leather shoes, granny boots and chinese slippers on the feet. To go with the BIG shoulder pads, you need BIG hair. Bangles and beads, lace gloves, pearly pink or purple lip gloss, slouch socks, banana clips, I better quit, or I will get flashbacks of the 80's. Just think of Tiffany and the GO-Go-Girls.

I'm just in awe that those stirrup pants still fit, belly or no belly. I like the man's shirt idea but I would belt it with a scarf.

The colorful big man's shirt was an 80's thing (with a loose belt), flats were in anyway, a hair band and teased- teased hair with big colorful bangle plastic bracelets and earrings, that's totally early 80's... jeeze, I can't believe the way we used to dress LMAO!!! Sounds like fun!!!!
