I Would Think So. Especially If They Value Speed And Agility. The Fast Running Back Work Constantly On Their Calves. Look At Emmett Smith. You Wouldn't Think He Would Be A Great Dancer Because He Is Stocky But He Take Good Care Of His Calves. Check out NFL.com and Look For Yourself.

Yes, they do. Calf workouts are part of squats or leg presses (same motion).

To work your calves, find a seated leg press machine and do the regular exercise.
After doing the appropriate number of reps, extend your legs all of the way, just like another regular leg press motion.
Then lower your feet to hanging off of the bottom edge, with just your toes holding the weights. Slowly rock your toes back and forth (extending and flexing your feet) so that your calf is doing the work of pushing the weights down.

I'm not a pro athlete, but I usually do 20 reps of calves with each set of squats or leg presses.

To work your calfs with regular squats, just raise yourself up on your toes while bearing weight.

depends on the position,but do players work out there calves as religiously as they do there arms or chest or back, probably not....

nope, some have great skills and earn lots of money every year...don't you think it's worthy?

even Becks puts on new clothes and shoes everyday..now you see, how football has changed their life even their skills are not so good..
