Yes you will be able to turn it off if the game doesnt need it at the time. Get the PlayStation 3 cuzz the hard drive is huge 20 or 60 gig u get a built in web browser u will be able to play PS1 & PS2 games and watch everything is high definition graphics. Also you will be able to download any song using Singstar that awesome, also since the PS3 brings Linux installed that means u will be able to create ur own application like games or different video format for the PS3 to read. Sony is also letting PS3 upload music and video thats gonna be awesome plus online play is free.

Most of these settings should be self-explanatory. There are a few areas of interest, though. First, the "User" menu. Like the Xbox 360, the PS3 will allow multiple user accounts on a single system. When you start up the PS3, you'll be able to select the current user, thus avoiding confusion with save game files and other settings.

Another notable element of the interface is the "System Update" option. This selection is also present on the PSP, where it's used to update the system's firmware with new features and new defenses against piracy. Sony will be staging system updates for the PS3, maybe.

The PlayStation Store option is where you'll go to purchase downloadable content.

Most intriguing is the Remote Play option. This feature will allow you to view PS3 video on your PSP via Wi-Fi. It's unclear if this is just for video footage, or if games will actually be playable through this option. The Remote Play functionality will be possible on the 60 gigabyte PS3 model. The functionality can also be accessed from the 20 Gig model if you invest in a Wi-Fi adapter.

Wow, I didn't even think of that. I wonder if the Nintendo Wii will do that, too. I'm pretty sure you'll have the option to turn the rumble off like most of the games out there with rumble capability, and probably vise versa with the motion sensors (that is, if the motion sensor is not an integral part of the game.) So yeah, probably you will be able to turn the Rumble off.

Also, I myself am getting the aforementioned Nintendo Wii, but if your more of a "traditionalist", go with the next-gen...no, scratch that, the today-gen console, PS3. I won't call the PS3 or 360 next-gen because the only improvement is the graphics (Sony is at least copying the motion sensor idea, so maybe the PS3 is today-gen part 2). Anyway, if you're looking for a next-gen console, definitely the Wii. If you're looking to have a more "traditional" gaming experience, go with the PS3. Stay clear of the 360, please!

The PS3 will not have the duel shock in its new controls, but it will have the motion sensor technology in it. The game warhawk will use this new technology in its system. The reason it will not have the duel shock is because they were facing a lawsuit for copyright infringement so they took it out so they would not have to pay for it. Sony will have you believe that they didn't put duel shock in because it interfered with the motion sensor technology, but the Wii has a rumble features with its system, so that is a line of crap.

i think microsoft's project natal is gonna own sonys motion sensor. Project natal is going to revolutionize the gaming industroy because it's going to allow players to actual become part of the experience they are playing. All the ps3's motion sensor will be is an upgrade to it's 6 axis.
