Well, since interpretation of instrumental pieces is purely subjective I'd say it only describes the piece from the perspective of critics of the piece, whether they are pro or con.

hi strawberry.

in as much as i would like to help you, i could not get any sense out of your question.

first, you need to tell us what is the "text" that you do not understand. second, what is the "piece" that you are studying. is it a piano piece? an oratorical piece?

if you can give us titles or lines of what you are studying then we can better help you.

what does the text........about the piece.........contribute to its meaning?

(you probably have the text)

Read the text, analize it, and decide what you think it contributes to the meaning of the song

the question is worded wrong

I broke that question down, bit by bit and STILL couldn't figure out what exactly it is that you are asking.

Add some info to the question, and then you'll get beeter answers then mine.

Good luck!
