I don't really, unless it's obvious. Sometimes it isn't. I just find that some people think minorties think all white people discriminate against them. Well, how did it become this way? How are minorities supposed to know if someone is really discriminating against them, or they plain just don't like them? Seriously.

Too many times now a days there are people who are honestly suffering from being in a situation of oppresion and don't speak up about it, because they are scared.
On the other hand though you have the most arrogant, loud talking people who use it as a crutch. These people want everything they can get for as little as they can pay. I have seen it alot. These are the people who file a lawsuit if you touch them. They will scream "It's cause I am black"! I have heard it many times.

How do you solve this? Create a community outreach program to help out people who are truly oppressed. Teach them how to pool their money to invest into the community and banks so they can get loans for homes, higher education and so on...
Now, for the people who want something for nothing, sometimes they will get what they want, but in the long run people will realize that they are a snake and their handouts will be cutoff.
Peace...

It's all about their reasons. If a white person has a legitimate reason to dislike someone who is a minority then it's probably not racism.

But if you can't find a reason for it, then it is racism. And here's an example of minority on minority racism: My boss JIll lived in China until she was 15. She had a thick accent and was kind of hard to understand sometimes. This black girl Angela that I worked with refused to recognize her as her supervisour. She wouldn't call her when she wasn't coming in or would be late, and she never talked to her or asked her any questions. Jill was nothing but nice to this lady yet she was always rude to her. When Jill moved to another state we were all signing a card for her, and we asked Angela if she wanted to sign it. She actually said "Now remind me again who Jill is." I got my answer to why she treated Jill so badly when one day she flat out said she doesn't like anybody that's not from this country.

Now I'm really pissed off at Angela and I'm white and she's black. But that doesn't make me racist, It's bloody obvious she's the racist. .

I think there are people out there that are rude and racist, so the minorities learned to stay away from "The Type," and this causes more misunderstandings with each other.

I am Asian myself, and I don't feel being discriminated 99% of the time here in Utah. Instead of racism, there are sterotypes and assumptions.
When I go out to buy stuff with my bf (white), most sales people talk to him instead of me. They just assumed I am a foreigner or something. However, I don't have a foreign accent, and my listening skill is just as good as everyone.

One time I was paying at Wal-Mart. the cashier lady asked for my ID, and looked at my signature on the credit card for a long time. She also took out all the stuffing in a purse I was buying.
I know the cashier lady did it because of safety reasons for both customers and the company, however, I felt unfair because she didn't take a look at other "white" customers' IDs and stuff.
I talked to my bf's mom afterwards (she's a wal-mart employee), and she told me the cashiers are supposed to do that. It's Wal-Mart's policy. However, why don't they force it on all customer instead just one "Asian" girl??

Anyways, I don't think there is a way of knowing someone really discriminating against you unless they act very obvious like refusing to serve you or call you names related to your race, and violences because of your race.

Just don't worry about it if it were little things like what the cashier in Wal-Mart did. There is nothing you can do, right?
Go on with your life, and those who are racist one day will learn it's wrong to judge people on their apperance than their heart.

PS One thing I do have to say about the racism issue....
We all know there is a channel call BET. It's meant for the African Americans. However, what if there is a channel called WET? Anyone's gonna protest against it??
In a way, I feel like sometimes the minorities "protect" themselves too much, and it blinds them.

Just ask all the people in the last two hours who have posted something negative about black people. "why do black people over react?" "Why is it everytime we say something it's racist?". It's all i have been seeing. Apparently they think we take everything as racism. Everyday you hear someone making a minority joke. Not a black joke but a minority as in everything but white. Most of the time they make those jokes because they find nothing wrong with it because they where not taught right or they think it does no harm. There is truly no way for us to truly know, and if we act upon our instincts which tell us it's not joking where going to have a bunch more white people (Yes I say white people because most of the people on here who have been complaining about nothing have been white) will just say where complaining about nothing.

Sometimes, racism is a good thing
Quick story:
In Castroville ,Texas, there was a restaurant who shall remain nameless. The owner wasn't too thrilled about serving those who were not of the "Caucasian Persuasion" and would make them eat on picnic tables out back while the whites ate inside. What the owner didn't know was that if you slipped the cook a couple of bucks,he would let you have seconds and thirds for free.
This guy was always wondering how he was losing money every month, lol. It got to where even the white people were eating out back too.He never had a clue to what was going on and ended up filing for bankruptcy, lol.

Well you say minority and white people discriminating. In my opinion White people are a minority now atleast in the united states lol It isn't like before anymore. And really when people say people are being racist they aren't i find that most black people yell racist when they don't get their way in this country because they know they'll get their way. But really,I don't think any mexicans or latinos or any of them are like that. Blacks and whites clash a lot because of the background of the country.

this is a tricky subject. most places that hire people have to hire a certain amount of minorities just so theyre not sued for racism. to me, this is discriminating agaisnt the majority. it should be whoever's more qualified, not what race they are.
