It really depends on how you process information (whether you are a Visual, Auditory or Kinesthetic) and comprehend information (whether you are a Global or Linear).
Processing Information - The Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic (VAK) Assessment.
1. Visual - Visual people learns best when the get to see the information. Some favorite learning methods would be reading, examining graphs and charts, watching videos or demonstrations and using pictures.
2. Auditory - Auditory people learn best by hearing information. Some favorite learning methods include listening (to a lecture or cassette tape) or talking/reading out loud to self or others
3. Kinesthetic - Kinesthetic people learn best by doing. Some favorite learning method would be hands on trial-and -error, highlighting text when reading, taking notes, mind mapping, games, skill practice, role play, conducting experiments
Generally people are: 40% Visual, 20% Auditory and 40% Kinesthetic. You may also find out that you learn best by combining two or all of these learning methods.
The sooner you determine how you process the information, the better you will be able to decide which learning method suits you. A sample of the VAK Assessment can be found at the website below.
Comprehending Information: The Global/Linear Assessment
1. Global - A global person enjoys getting the main idea and are comfortable talking to others even if they don't know all the words or concepts. People who are global thinkers:
- Like to see the big picture
- Would go 'ready-fire-aim'
2. Linear - A linear person focusses more on details and remember specific information about a topic well. People who are linear thinkers:
- Like to get all the details in order
- Would go 'ready-aim-aim-aim-fire'
There is an assessment (similar to the VAK assessment) for this but I was unable to get a copy at the moment. Probably you can try get it from the web. Basically, looking at the characteristics, you can already see what kind of person (whether global or linear) are you.
BTW, Im a Auditory/Kinesthetic, Linear person.
Hope this helps.

Give yourself plenty of time to study, not just on the last minute. If you know your material a week before your exam day, it would sure help. Do practice exams and know the stuf well.
