Tip what you feel is appropriate for the service received. Everywhere I have ever worked for tips, the percentage of the bill never entered my mind. And I know that will get comments, so let me explain -- the guy who ate alone, only required one refill, and left $1 -- that was okay. It was the table of 8, who ran my legs off, were rude, and let their 2 year old play with a bowl of shredded cheese and left $1, or nothing, would upset me much more.
Now I run a karaoke business, on a strictly tip basis, and the only people who irritate me are the ones who want to sing all night and are obnoxious and don't tip at all ---- ever. Tips equal my paycheck, so it's like working for free. And with what most places pay waitresses, they are about in the same position. Take that into consideration when you tip as well.

A proper tip here in the USA is 15 or 20 percent of the total bill before taxes. If you're tipping the grocery boy for carrying your bags to the car, it's usually a dollar. The doorman at a fancy hotel - a couple bucks to a fiver. The wine sommelier at a fancy restaurant - slip 'im a twenty - or don't dine at such a highfalutin' place!

double the tax and then that is what you tip her ........ unless it is a general question like the others then you only wanna tip 'er about 90 degres or she may fall on over ....... go slow about 10 degree incriments at a time and she how stable she is , if she is rockin and rollin you may need to cinch 'er down a touch /......... be careful

Yea, if the service was ok 15%, if it was good 20% if it was great 25% but its really up to you and how you liked the service and how the place looks , etc.
