I'm going to guess that you mean she gets depressed. We sometimes call it the "Baby Blues", and it was thought for a long time to be a mental problem.
During pregnancy, the woman's body produces huge amounts of hormones, which protect her and the baby. It also makes her feel quite good, clears up her complexion, gives her shiny hair, and a certain "glow". From about month 3 to month 6, things are pretty good. After the pregnancy, the body doesn't need all these hormones, so it stops the production. Suddenly, the brain and body have to deal with a serious lack of them. Since the brain has gotten used to them, it suddenly finds it without them and it takes a few weeks to adjust. Sometimes it is harder to adjust or takes longer.

That adjustment period can be marked by a depression, and feeling quite sad. It is normal, but sad nonetheless. After a few weeks to months, the brain makes the adjustment and things are better agian.

our life changes. now we have a little perosn who depends on me and a mate. how can i do both. this goes through our heads. and finally gets the best of us. we can't do both. now that's where the mate comes into being. he or she must help. help with the **** stuff the babies meals and getting up at night. if we share with our mates these things, so we won't fell so alone. you know, we didn't have this baby by ourselves. and i don't think we should rear him by ourselves. it takes two to tango.
