Over all for the sport it is good.
Now the truth! This is an ego trip for an owner. There are dozens of drivers in the NASCAR weekly racing, ellite series that are better drivers than the F1 ace.But in the name of greed the owner hires the ace ond does not give a chance to the guy that runs in the weekly ranks, this goes for any of the teams that hire drivers from other forms of motorsports.
Diversity is needed in the sport and to get the diversity sometimes they must step out of bounds, when this happens we see Montoya,Or Carmichael coming in to race in the American breed sport, but we see people like Philip Morris(Dodge ellite champ) struggle week to week running local tracks but proving themselfs but only getting a pat on the back and not a chance.
Congrats Montoya,and good luck.

The McLaren Formula One didn't want him for 2007 and none of the other top F1 teams showed much interest, so, if he wanted to stay in racing, his options were fairly limited.
If he pulls another `tennis' stunt next season (like the one in 2005), I think we'll see a very angry Chip Ganassi. Also, look for the convivial Montoya we've seen in his two ARCA races to morph into an angry and belligerent Montoya after very few Nextel Cup races, when he finds his car wrecked and up against a wall.

I am happy that he's joining. I know that NASCAR and f1 seem to fight a lot over who is better, and some NASCAR fans seem upset that a Formula driver is joining the NASCAR ranks. It will be interesting to see how he does with stock cars! I bet he'll do fine...it'll be a a big change for him...but he'll do just fine. I'll be keeping an eye to see how he does!

The 'Jury' is out on this one. Takes a totally different driving style than Indy Cars or Formula One.

I agree with the football chick. Who gives a damn? F-1 didn't want him, why would Ganassi want him?
