going under the wire would insinuate a sense within the self of fear, not only of the unknown of whats going to happen once the wire has been crossed, but more importantly a fear of whether the right decision has truly been made as to cross. let's think body posture here: ducking, head down, eyes not straight ahead in which to face what is about to be done. going over the wire presents determination and a willingness to accept whatever consequence (good or bad) that may come from crossing; a strong belief that a decision has been made and one is going to stick by it. again, body posture: head up, eyes looking ahead, physically and mentally prepared. anytime one makes a decision it should definitely be met with fervor and strength, so over the wire all the way i say.

I wouldn't. That this wire is put there for a reason. Ignoring it means changing the course of events, maybe the course of your life. But if I had to, I would choose the best way to do it without putting myself or other persons in any danger. Of course, right before I am about to do that, I would ask myself :"Why?" Now, that's what I call a philosophical answer to what you call a psychological question.

I think I would go under it because I'm a short person, and if I misjudged the height of the wire by a centimeter, I could cut into my thigh or genitalia, both areas where there is potential for serious damage (major artery in leg and, well, genitalia LOL). Whereas, if I go under and tuck my head, the wire is more likely to roll off my back and only give minor cuts or scrapes, or if I'm unlucky, a really bad haircut.

That all depends on how high it is. In fact, there is a thin electrical wire in the field across the road from us to keep the cows in. Taller people step over the wire. Shorter people stoop under the wire. Seems to me this question is not really psychological, but physiological.

I've done that all my life. I truly believe that deep in everyone's heart exist built-in wires, and that we already know right from wrong.
And when I jay walk in the middle of the block I know I know when it's safe to cross the street.
I don't need a sign or 'stinkin' badges!'

I'd leave it the hell alone. You've got a boatload of bad assumptions in this question. Is that why you call it a good psychological question?

Depends what's on the other side. Pizza - sure. Veggie pizza, no way. A hot chick lying atop a veggie pizza - you bet. No, no - even better: a hot chick lying atop a veggie pizza wearing a dress made out of bacon... And with three boobs. Yeah, three.

What is the wire made from?
At what height is it at?
How much room under it is there?
How much room over it is there?
Is it in a corridor or between two trees?

Depends on the height. If I can just bend and fit, I'll go under. If I can step over, I will do that.

If it's not too high, I would jump over it.
If it's not too low, I would limbo underneath it.
It wouldn't make a difference if I was wearing a dress, or not.
