Kill Bill 1 was awesome. You're right. My biggest criticism of Kill Bill 2, and the reason I really disliked it so, is that the story doesn't carry as well as Kill Bill 1. Yeah, as someone already mentioned, it IS technically the same story, just progressed to settle everything. Much like a television series (can't wait for The Sopranos, BTW - had to throw that out there). But, comparatively, it was presented much better, better dialouge, better forward-moving pace...just better showcase in Vol. 1 than Vol. 2.
They're both great films done by a great filmmaker. But if I were given the choice to watch either over and over again, I'd definitely choose the first. Never mind the action, I liked the story...and Lucy Lui is INCREDIBLY HOT!!!

1 and 2 are the same story. The first had more action the second was more dramatic. I liked both parts. I will say the way Bill dies is dissapointing. I was waiting for this hugh showdown. But Tarantino is good at being unpredictable as a film maker.

I thought Part 2 was far superior to Part 1. I get sick and tired of Tarrantino's "hey, look how CLEVER i am!" directing methods, and, in Part 2, he actually slowed the pace long enough for me to appreciate the dialogue and the quality of the performances. One of these days, I'll watch the whole thing at once, and see how they fit together as a single filmgoing experience.

well, from what i understood, 1 & 2 were filmed to be released as one movie but it was too long so the split it up.
i loved them both. bloody killing is awesome, but part 2 explained everything that part 1 should have.

Both... The idea was that it was meant to be one movie... Vol 1 asked the questions and vol 2 answered them. Personally I believe Tarantino to be an eccentric genius the way he directs his films.
