She may have reflux. The acid in her stomach may be coming up her esophogus and burning her throat. Try explaining the problem over the phone to her pediatrician or a nurse and see if you can get them to give a prescription for Zantac or something else. If the doctor or nurse can't do this over the phone, then you should call for your daughter and tell them that it's urgent and find out how long it will take to get an appointment with the doctor and a registered interpreter. If there is something wrong with the baby, then they should be able to accomodate you. If not, then I would see about finding another pediatrician!

Try to keep calm. I have a 12 week old who is going through a lot of the same things right now. She's now on Zantac and seems to be doing much better. I hope the baby is doing better soon.

Lots of different answers here, I hope you can see your doctor very soon, otherwise you'll have to wait. Since most answers are listed already, ie colic etc.. the only other thing I can think of (that's not medically related) is if the milk is too warm it might hurt her when she is drinking. But if she's crying all night then there is something wrong. How old is baby ?? Is this the first time she sleeps away from her mom ?? If she still likes to be swaddled, snuggle her tightly (helps with fussy babies) If she takes a pacifier, this may also help the colic if that's what it is.
If you can't wait for her doctor, go to the ER. They will not turn away a baby. Good Luck

If you're right about her throat... check for thrush... Thrush looks like white fluffy blobs that can only be scraped off. It can be very painful. It's basically a yeast infection in the mouth and throat. It definitely hurts!
I'm not clear on why you can't go to the doctor, but a baby needs lots of fluids. They can't turn you away at the ER.

If she hasn't had much to drink, get her to a hospital if the Dr. can't see her. it may be colic but get it checked out. my sister's baby cried and cried and didn't stop and it was acid reflux once the dr. saw her. Don't put the baby thru anymore pain and get her to medical help. I may be over reacting but your precious grandchild needs help and that's what the Dr's are for. We are not completely equipped to know whats wrong with our babies sometimes we need others to help. Good Luck hope the baby is well soon.

if her tummy is tight, she probably has colic but she may also have old timey thrush. look in her mouth and see if you see any little white puss pockets in her mouth or throat. if she has thrush, she won't be able to drink and she needs to go to the doctor. if she has colic, give her some dark Karo syrup in warm water. my doctor told me this 30 years ago and i have used it on all the kids i kept for 25 years. it works and it won't hurt her but it has to be dark Karo not light. 1/2 tsp to 4 oz. water. hope it helps.

It could be colic, but i would also suggest checking the babies mouth for thrush, (it looks like a milky mouth but won't come off when wiped). If you can't get into see the doctor i would suggest taking the babies to the chemist/pharmacy and asking them for suggestions!!! Good Luck!!!

this sounds like gerd with laryngomalacia, does she sound like she is "barking" when she crys? does she cough or gag alot?
my son has gerd with laryngomalacia and also tracheomalacia, he to this day has trouble swallowing stuff that is thin (he is 13 months old)
reflux would explain why she is acting like she has a sore throat with the crying ... because it burns her throat...
I would find a gi doc when you can go to the doc and an ent doc.....
thicken her formula with rice cereal up to 1 tablespoon per ounce of formula, if that helps then it is the above...
hold her upright for feedings and after for 30 min

Seems that the baby may have a hernia? Also may be a problem with mucus buildup? if the chilsd is not taking milk she may become dehydrated and then that is a serious problem....take her to emergency if it continues past 48 houirs.
