No. It depends on caloric intake and body type.

No, not all, but many do.

I mainly got bigger in the belly and breast area. I went up three bra sizes, and the pregnant belly started at about 5 months, but I didn't wear maternity clothes until 7 months. My butt and thighs are bigger now, but I'm back into the same jeans I wore pre-baby, and my original cup size, but I wear one band size bigger. Over-all, it took me until I was 10 days overdue before I gained all of the 30 lbs that my OB recommended for me, and that didn't include the 15 lbs that I lost in the first 5 months from morning sickness.

My sister-in-law gained all over. And I do mean everywhere. Her feet and hands swelled up, her face got 'puffy' (her word!), and she gained somewhere between 50 and 60 pounds (possibly more).

Everyone is different, but you can look at your mother and your grandmas to get a rough idea of what will happen to your body.

I gained 17 pounds and was all belly. It just depends. I got right back in my regular clothes a week after I had my baby. I walked every night once I was 6 months and I worked all the way up until my due date. It kept me busy and always moving. Sometimes it doesn't even matter how much you do either you'll gain it all over or you won't. I always say walk! It'll keep you more comfortable in the long run.

I am an OB nursing student. To tell you in all honesty, every pregnant women gets a little bigger everywhere. The body is all about baby.

The body natural has fat under the skin as insultation. The fat does expand in ALL women during pregnancy. Of course it is not noticable enough for you or anyone around you.

I am 14 1/2 weeks and I am getting chubby in my tummy. I was told if I get fatter in other places that its what I am eating, too much fat and unnessecary calories etc..

But enjoy your pregnancy! There are many other things to worrie about rather than weight. Good luck!

Im not sure, it seems that it happens to some women. I have only gotten bigger in my belly. My feet, ankels and hands are swollen but doc. says its from fluids, not fat..it will go away. Just like my belly. Its good to do walking and light exercises to try and keep fit. It must be what is helping me because so far its just my belly..lol and boobs as well.

I didn't get fat anywhere...I got a bigger belly of course, but it didn't (and doesn't now, as I am pregnant again) look fat, just looked pregnant. A few weeks after having my son, I was back to the way I was before I got pregnant...5'8 and 110lbs.
