That would be a really great slam dunk contest, but I don't think any of them would risk aggravating previous injuries just for the show. Both may no longer perform as well they did during their first contests, since the "I don't have to prove anything, I already won it" mentality may be in the back of their minds.

But hey, anything's possible, and a mano-a-mano slamfest between the two, or among previous winners including J-Rich, Desmond Mason and Nate Robinson, would probably bring the excitement 10x higher if it were held in the 2007 All-Star Weekend

I would more than LOVE to see Kobe in the dunk contest again- back in 97 he was amazing. And Carter being part of the 2000 dunk contest was probably one of the most spectacular displays I've seen (what with Vince, Francis, and McGrady being in the finals).

But, this year I have very high hopes for the dunk contest. Since it's Rising Stars, two or three of the most incredible dunkers I've ever seen may have the chance to compete- namely Rodney Carney, and James White. Carney was part of the collegiate dunk contest, and he jumped from a good foot or two beyond the free throw line, and he wound up back rimming it. That's the furthest I've ever seen anybody jump, and it was incredible. James White got a bit more technical with his dunks (not in the contest), and he pulled out throwing down a free throw line dunk, but putting it between his legs.

This dunk contest has some promise, let's just hope these two guys can deliver!

I don't know why you brought "his" name up. We are two totally different players and by the way he is one level BELOW me. I even changed my number to 24. 1 over him. I really dont need a slam dunk contest if you ever come to any of my laker games. It's the greatest show on earth coming to see me. So I'll think about it. Truth is I dont need to join a pointless event like that. I would much rather a one on one with Jordan during all star weekend so I can blow out the old man andt take the torch because I! am the better player....

P.S. I did rape that white girl up in Colorado!!!! hahahahaa!!

you might have a problem here as the dunk contest has changed it is now called the rising star dunking contest and is only for player who are rookies sophomore and up coming players,so players like Vince carter and Kobe could not enter because the are none of the above

im prepared to say he received't enter the dunk contest. he will likely pull out of it a lengthy time period next year. i imagine of he basically suggested that by using very truth thats what human beings necessary to pay interest. the nba is familiar with of that this dunk contest replaced into wack and wasnt that solid. david stern likely texted lebron to say he will enter the dunk contest to get human beings excited by using very truth after this crappy all action picture movie star weekend no man or woman will watch it next year. yet nate replaced into large. kryptonate replaced into an truly innovative idea. notwithstanding cant believe he jumped over howard.

That would be amazing, v.c is the most creative and slick dunker in the NBA, while Kobe is one of the most finesse dunkers in the NBA.
