Diesel fuel will not cause damage to a gasoline engine but it can cause smoke hard starting and clogged injectors best remedy . You have already cleaned your tank and replaced screen. Add new fuel preferably premium as it has detergant and will clean any left over diesel

I don't know if you have a diesel or gasoline engine. But....
If your vehicle is a diesel and you use ordinary gasoline, your engine will not run. Diesel engines don't have spark plugs. Diesel combusts from compression, but gasoline must have a spark. If you have used ordinary gasoline, you will have to tow your vehicle to a garage or have someone you know drain your tank, fuel lines, and engine. If you are running the engine, it is only a matter of time until your diesel fuel runs out and the gasoline goes in and floods the engine.

shouldn't cause any permanent problems. Worst case scenario, you fouled the spark plugs out. It may take a tank or two of gas to get all of it out of the fuel system. Just hope it doesn't burn your catalytic converter up.

No damage. It will just smoke for a while out of the exhaust until it cleans itself out.
