In some respects, yes. For example, when coming into this forum or any of the other ones on this site, I can pretty much ask anything. Not so in the real world, even with my closest friends.

In other ways, no. There are people in the online world who think nothing of attacking others who disagree with them; sometimes they just do it for kicks, not apparently caring that a real life person is at the opposite end of the line of communication. I think another weakness in the online world is that for the most part, you really don't have realtime experiences with those you communicate with, even on a daily basis. There is no "test' in such friendships, as would be in the real world. Also, feathers can be ruffled pretty quickly online, and friendships destroyed over trivial matters.

No, my real world is better -it's where my family & my real friends are (as well as my dogs -my babies). There are some interesting people online & I like sharing this experience with you, but we'll likely never meet in person so it's not as good as my real world.

yes because I'm not automatically seen as being "wrong" when I express my opinion or say how I see things while I'm online. In the real word some people are either in denial or just don't want to know the truth.

Last week, I just moved across the country, and all my friends are back there and I have not yet made friends here; so, for the moment, yes.
