ok so today i had a game at 5:30 and it was pretty cold and rainy. first half my friend was goalie. second half my coach put me in goal. so where my goal was it was very muddy and slippery. anyway the girl from the other team passed all my defense and it was just me and her. so instead of letting her get closer and scoring i decided to go out of the goal and grap it. i did but i was slippery that it looked like i was playing hot patatoe. anyway the ball slipped out of my hands onto the ground and the girl was right there so i dove for it and i was laying on my stomach right next to the left goal post. i had the ball in my hands and she kicked my arm which forced me to push the ball to the side. now in slippery mud trying to get up agian one of her team mates took a shot and scored. the ref said it wasn't in goalie possesion. i mean come on it was in my hands and the girl kicked my arm! i was soo pissed my mom said i looked like i wanted to punch her soo badly. the refs are sooo dumb

If you had control of the ball in your hands, any attempt to remove it, would be illegal.

If you had only momentary control and the ball slipped out, the opponent has a right to attack the goal.

But in your scenario, the referee should have offered you more protection.

A referee should, where possible, always give the goalkeeper, the benefit of doubt.

But it's a learning process for you and the referee. Youth games should be viewed in this context, not so much about winning, but learning.

That's the bad part about being a goalkeeper. Even the defenders can pull out of a challenge, but a true goalkeeper cannot begin to consider that. Just look at Chelsea, two goalkeepers knocked unconscious in one game. Don't let that scare you though. You're right, the ref made a bad call, but that's a part of the game. Good luck in your next match.

The thing is, the ref can only see so much going on at the same time. They are only human and quite limited. It is one of the many things you have to handle in any kind of sport. If you are going to win, you must make some things very obvious. It is like playing a video game with gliches. It is sometimes impossible to win unless you figure out a way to get by the glitches. They aren't supposed to be there but you figure out a way to compensate for them. Realize you have to compensate for the ref's lack of sight and cover the ball to make it obvious it is in your possession.

I just find it strange for your coach to switch keepers in the middle of a game. Was your friend injured or something? Just a thought.
It might have been that the referee missed spotting that foul. It happens sometimes. Its times like this that you should let it pass and focus on the rest of the game.

it sucks feeling replaced. i liked the same guy for 3 years and he just kept going girl to girl to girl, but that girll never ended up being me. sometimes you jsut have to learn to let it go, and maybe theyll realize what they missed out on and come running back.

about this soccer question, sorry im no help here.
i mean no idea.
hope the other one helped though!

definitely not fair. the rules specifically say that if the goalie has the ball in their hands, people cannot try to kick it.
