Yes, there are a lot of crazies out there (I see them daily on the Jerry Springer Show). However, I feel safe, mainly because I am confident in myself and the decisions I make. It also helps to be a teacher and know how to give anyone, old or young, the teacher look ... there's something about that look which causes people to stop whatever nonsense they are doing, look repentant, and apologize. If folks ignore the look, they get the verbal dressing down, starting with the calm words "I am very disappointed in your behavior." It seems to work --

You are right there are "some" crazies out there. Not all are crazy though! Right? So how do you think a society would be with all sane people? There would be no word to describe sanity or crazyness. You get all kinds of things in life in different dosages. You should learn to accept these things as they are and move along gracefully. If you cannot do that, be sure, you are yourself moving towards crazyness. If you dont believe me, then get a sex change to be "safe"!

To be honest, whether or not you feel safe..... doesnt matter, never show your fear or else you will have a reason to be scared. Your very right, there are crazy people out there, know how to feel safer, become crazy and never show fear and never let anyone run all over you.

Yes but it's extremely stupid and naive of me to feel safe. I live in New York City, specifically Manhattan and it's a big target for terrorism among other things. Plus, my restraining order against my crazy ex who threatened to kill me expired.

I feel perfectly safe. I don't use a gun, but I ALWAYS let someone know where I am @ all times. Keep my doors locked and really just use common sense. Plus I never leave my house without praying. God will always be with me.

That's why I ordered mace. Anyway, what I feel most afraid of is the amount of ignorant people in the world, who I feel, if given a chance, would hurt other people JUST because the people are different than them in race, sexuality, religion etc.

Well, no I don't feel safe but everybody feels that way: men, women, children.... usually crazies don't gender discriminate.
