But a 1 under the 3.
And then multiply
3/1*3/4
3*3=9
1*4=4
9/4
And if you need to reduce
divide
9 by 4
9divide by4
2 1/4

pass multiply: a/b = c/d -----> advert = bc a million. 8/n = 6/7 6n = 8*7 n = fifty six/6 = 28/3 2. comparable as # a million. x = 9/10 3. (x+9)/3 = 2/8 8(x+9) = 3*2 8x + seventy two = 6 8x = ?sixty six x = ?sixty six/8 = ?33/4 4. comparable as # 3. r = a hundred thirty five/8

always have a look at what you are being asked
because if you can't understand it, how are you going to work out an answer?
in your example, we are told that something equals minus three quarters.
what is that something? it's an unknown (b) divided by three.
we want to know what b is, so let's multiply both sides of the equals sign by three.
b = -9/4

b/3=0.75
(b/3)*3=(0.75)*3
b=0.75*3
b=2.25 or b=2 1/4
Im not too good at maths though so get it confirmed!

"b/3=-3/4"
First, to isolate "b", multipy both sides by "3".
3*(b/3)=(-3/4)*3
b=-9/4
So therefore... b=-9/4
Hope this helps. Your welcome.
