Tutankhamen's 'fame' lies in that his was the only tomb that remained safe through the centuries - to reveal a horde of artifacts, which give us a clear picture of the culture and lifestyle of his times !
He died young, and was buried in a hurry - and his tomb too was constructed in a hurry. But, while the other Pharaohs' highly complex tombs were repeatedly vandalised and plundered through nearly two millenia, friend Tut's tomb escaped all such indignities...
This 'great escape' is what has made him famous !

also spelled Tutankhamun original name Tutankhaten king of Egypt (reigned 1333–23 BC), known chiefly for his intact tomb discovered in 1922. During his reign, powerful advisers restored the traditional Egyptian religion and art, both of which had been set aside by his predecessor Akhenaton, who had led the “Amarna revolution.”

His death did not make him famous.

He was next in line to be king. Then he died 9 years later. We best know him because his tomb was discovered and preserved, but to answer the specific question "why did he do to make himself famous?" the answer is - he became king.

Without having become king, he would not have been buried with his treasures and would not be known today.

Goat and Sloar got it kinda right. He was the youngest Pharaoh (probably assassinated) and the discovery of his tomb made him even more famous. They say his tomb was cursed and every person entering the premises of his tomb would die in a horrible way, which amazingly happened. The three guys who entered his tomb died horribly and mysteriously within 2 years after the discovery. Not kidding!

The short answer is that he died. He was a relatively minor pharaoh. I think he only reigned a short time, and then died to some sickness. His claim to fame is that the entrance to his burial chamber got burried, and was never found by grave robbers. When Carter found his tomb back in the 30's it was largely untouched, making it one of the richest finds in Egyptian history.

He died. He reigned for only about 9 years and died before he was 20, so there was much time for him to make any great contributions during his lifetime. His contribution was that his tomb is considered to be the most important archaeological find in the 20th century

It develop into built over a 20 twelve months era concluding around 2500 BC. the three pyramids are the tombs of Pharaons Keops, Kefren and Micerinos. curiously, the Pyramid of Khafre seems to be extra beneficial than the Cheops Pyramid despite if it´s in ordinary terms an optical phantasm. at that factor there develop right into a regulation that didn´t enable you to build a pyramid extra beneficial than your father's one. There are diverse theories approximately who equipped the pyramids, in recent times historians think of that they have got been equipped by way of nicely-taken care of workers. yet another sought after tomb is the tomb of Tutankhamun. That develop into discovered, ordinarily intact, by way of Howard Carter in 1942. This tomb develop into excavated from interior of a mountain and his discovery develop into of great interest as a results of treasure that develop into found and the legend that emerged after the untimely dying of a few people who entered the tomb. yet another significant construction is Abu Simbel. This complicated temple is composed of two temples that have been initially carved out of the mountainside in the time of the reign of Pharaoh Ramesses II in the thirteenth century BC as a lasting monument to himself and his queen Nefertari. it somewhat is unusual as a results of fact, in the final room of the temple, there are the sculptures of three Gods´ and a sculpture of the Pharaoh that are in ordinary terms illuminated by way of the sunlight sooner or later a twelve months; the Pharaoh's birthday. the form of the Aswan intense Dam positioned this temple complicated in threat, so, in 1964, it develop into dismantled stone by way of stone and re-equipped at a better area. As a token of gratitude for their help with this artwork the Egyptian government provided the Temple of Debod to Spain. it somewhat is now on show in Madrid. finally I´m going to talk with regard to the Rosetta stone. The Rosetta stone develop into discovered throughout the time of Napoleon's marketing campaign in Egypt. it somewhat is critical as a results of fact it has led to our understand-how of Egyptian hieroglyphics. The stone is engraved with text textile in 3 languages: hieroglyphics, demotic and classical Greek. in recent times the Rosetta stone is stored in the British Museum.
