So if your lyrics aren't deep you can't be the best ever. Truthfully speaking and being a student of hip-hop, Biggie is better lyrically the Pac, Pac was just more deep.

For saying the Beastie Boys you don't need to answer any questions about rap. There isn't that many people who can rap what the Beastie Boys brought out but someone like Big Daddy Kane, maybe and how dare you compare them to Jay-Z. there aren't in the top 20.

There are many rappers who are influenced by Jay
Kanye, T.I, Lil'Wayne
He is one of the most consistent ever he has been runing the table since '96
He's done and doing things because of his rap status. You think that if he were just ok he would have the things he has, no way. Stop hating and show respect to the CEO of Hip-Hop.
But IF Biggie were alive he would be the best ever.

3rd behind Tupac and Biggie
1st-Tupac....because he was truely a poet who rapped. Some of his lyrics are so truely poetic its amazing that all that anger came from the same heart.
2. Biggie--because he absolutely had a handle on flowing over a beat, Nobody can do that better. He made Diddy, lets face it.
3. Jay-Z --Yes, he has alot of accomplishments, but as an artist, his lyrics are all based around the same central themes. Don't get me wrong, I have most of his work, and it's good, just not as deep as some of Pac's

First & formost, Biggie was better FLOW wise, not lyrically. There is a diffrence. Rakim is the best in both classes, because he had dope lyrics & he had rhythm in his flow. Jay-Z is the same way, he is like Rakim & Biggie in that sence. When he rhymes, he is a groove into himself.
Now according to that list you have up there, he is one hell of a business man. What that has to do with actual hip hop terms you would have to clarify to me. But as you can see from my last paragraph, i would put Rakim on top, Tupac 2nd, Biggie 3rd & Jay-z 4th.
