Yes it's a movie. It also happens to be a real street in Michigan. The same street he grew up on or hung out on or something. 8 Mile is a movie based LOOSELY on Eminem's life.

Yes he plays a white guy in the movie 8 mile who wants to make it big as a rapper but choked in a rap battle and other people wont let it go.He has to deal with his "friend" sleeping with a girl he liked they fought. Him and his mom's boyfriend fought also the enemy gang fought with "eminem". So in the end he proves that he is a rapper by winning 3 rap battles in a row against the enemy gang.
