YOU should be illegal everywhere.
No, I'm just kidding, but really, are you sure you want such an animal as a pet...? Really, think about it, those poor bastards actually like to swim, they need huge areas, why would you want to keep it all penned up...?
Instead, (and I am SERIOUS about this) you should save a few bucks and do the following: there are places in Mexico where you can actually go swim with them I actually got the chance to do it, I just chased one around this HUGE inlet, saw barracudas and huge tuna too, but the stingray was awsome, I could swear it was playful, if it wanted to hurt me or kill me, it of course could have done so, instead it chose to swim around, get away, wait for me to catch up, and then swim again. Once it got tired, it just laid on the bottom of the ocean, about 7 or 8 metres down, and I got the message, you actually get the message with those bastards..... so I went down to it, looked at it reeeeeal close, let it hava a good look at me, and that was that, we said goodbye and each to his own, we went on with our lives.
I am willing to bet that the experience I just described has GOT to be better than keeping the poor thing all penned up.
