I need some help with my ingition coil on my 86 Dodge Ram 50.
According to my repair manual the primary resistance should be 1.2
ohms, I measured 1.4 ohms. The secondary should be 17.0K ohms, I
measured 16.36K ohms. Ballast resistor should be 1.35 ohms, I measured
1.7 ohms. Should I replace the coil?? The darn thing is suddenly
missing like crazy. The plugs, wires and distributor cap have been
recently replaced.

If this engine has a computer, have it checked. It sounds like this problem. The distribtor maybe damaged, check and replace if needed.

Another problem may be water in the fuel. Check the fuel.

Your ignition coil sounds good.

spark, fuel, air and timing are the components need to run an engine. Check each.

Sounds like everything is within normal tolerances. I would check the plugs, wires, cap and rotor even though they have been changed, they could be defective or something could have been done improperly. If all is good there I would look to the push rods and rocker arms, Dodges are really bad for these parts failing.
