good call douglas b....it is played too much...BUT in the various tempo's and combo's.....if you want different versions...email me...ive got loads...even rick wakeman! Now im an rnb fan, but even i can appreciate the classics...i must heve downloaded a hundred versions of this, in the "cause" of learning, as i reckon musically, its an influentiial idea, and the sheer variations....considering this was 17, not 18 or 19 'oos its very unreal (johan pachelbel, 1650 onwards)

oh god, more details needed....he taught bach!!!! and the pop song bit, i have lots of versions, its about 3 minits! not a synphony! This, unusual for the period! thats the pop song thing, 3 mins, was not of this period! canon and guigue, a "popular" dance.....gig, and canon, a musical repost, bouncing of the previous phrase, repeating, out of sync, (in the round) sort of, but more a reply, like rapping battles? the origional 3 min, "battle" in terms of musical phrases, of that time, obviously!

I think it's over-rated and played on Classic Fm too much, though I will admit it's got a good chord progression.. Liked the Farm's Altogther Now - better than Groovy Train. For chill out baroque music, I prefer Albinoni's Adagio for organ and strings.

p.s. - thanks for the thumbs up but I've not earned enough points yet to e-mail. Would be interested in hearing the other versions though. Will get in touch when I get to level 2 if that's ok...

The 3 versions of Canon I have on CDs run between 4:00 and 4:24. I think it is the greatest song ever written. But, if we're talking about Barouque, I also like Jesu (Bach), Rondeau (Mouret), and Water Music (Handel) to name a few.
