PSAT does nothing. Though if you get a high enough score you get some award which looks nice on your college application. Also, people are constantly trying to undermine the SAT, which I think is fair enough since I think it is a sh***y test that proves nothing. Unfortunately, the reality is that it is very important and highly affects your chances of being admitted to a college. I had a 4.0 GPA and was turned down by every Ivy League. My SAT scores though were below par, by Ivy League standards, at only 2100.

No, colleges usually judge you by SAT, ACT and your grade point average. Keep your grade point average up- forever- even when you are in college. Sometimes, most of the time, the only thing they really care about is your grade point average. Just because you get into college doesn't mean squat. You will have to enter a program of some sort, and again- you will be judged mostly on your GPA. They take this very seriously. I speak from experience- I wanted to get into a program- I had a 3.7 grade point average (which I thought was pretty good) and I was declined. Keep your grades up, and good luck!!
