is it alright if i dont have my kick down cable from my 727 tf connected to my carb? what are the advantages/disadvantages of it not being hooked up?

i own a repair shop,and if you don't have it hooked up it wont shift right ,and it will be real hard on the transmission it puts it in a bind and may cause it to go out,i have seen them go out ,just over this alone,id get it hooked up on it,as soon as i could it will cause you some prob;ems with it,good luck i hope this help,s.

If you want it disconnected, do not just let it dangle there.
If it is in the furthest back position it could cause you some tranny problems over time.
Wire it, tie it, do what you have to to pull the linkage foward (not quite all the way) and keep it there. I would really recommend fixing it so it works properly. I have had to rebuild a few transmissions beacause the owners were running around with the kickdown linkage totally disconnected. Only other way around it is a modified or race valve body.
Besides, it's fun to have passing gear once in a while!

Your kick down will not shift your transmission into a lower gear.You won't have a passing gear as some people call it.

Unless you have a manual valve body, your trans will just turn to mush FAST without the kickdown hooked up.

it wont hurt a thing. It's just when you're in 3rd gear and you floor it, you'll have to manually shift down into second.
