I like the S, however if I was to consider the feelings of your unborn child I would say go with the Z. My daughter is always wishing that she could find personalized goodies when she is at the store. Sure you can have them made, but just to see a pen or some school item with your name and buy it is what she wants.

I have twins and one of the twins middle name is spelled Elizabeth. But, Elisabeth is an interesting way to spell it as well.
Both ways are fine...is one way more French than American? They will both take time to spell and pronounce.
Hope this helps you..

I prefer the S, but if you're going to be bringing her up in America, you may want to go with the Z, because that's the common spelling here. If you go with the S, everyone will mis-spell it and you'll never find any of the little pens or keychains or christmas tree ornaments (among other things) with her name on it.
That doesn't sound like a big deal, but to a little girl it can be practically life or death. My name is Rebecca, and it could be found everywhere, but my little sister's name is Kiley, and we've never found it on anything. Closest we come is Kylie, and she would get so upset!
My son's name is Eian, and I was going to spell it Ian, like is common, but his daddy was convinced that it needed an E or it looked funny. So I let him have his E, and now I have to spell it to everyone and I had all kinds of trouble with his birth certificate, and the announcements in the newspaper were all misspelled, and he still doesn't have a proper social security card, because it keeps coming reading E-L-A-N instead of E-I-A-N.
Conratulations on your little girl!

I'd suggest Elizabeth, only because it will save a ton of confusion over the course of her life, especially if you raise her in the USA. If you go with the Z, people won't have problems spelling her name, and she won't have to go around correcting them all the time. If you go with the S, people are far less likely to get it right and it will cause her annoyance to no end with things like legal documents, forms, etc.

My mother-in-law was Elisabeth. Most people would spell her name wrong. She was always telling people Elisabeth with an S. When looking at gifts with names printed on them we almost never saw Elisabeth they almost always had Elizabeth.

Good evening!
I personally per fer Z, why? I have a child, two actually, a daughter, (lovely woman) & a son, ChaZ! That is one reason, then I also have a neice w/ middle name Elizabeth! Love it! My oldest grandson's middle name is BlaZe! Just like the Z?! What ever you and your wife decide will be almost as beautiful as your daughter. Good Luck & much happiness. Live Well, Laugh Often, LOVE MUCH

Do you plan on giving her a nickname??? If you do then consider the spelling.... for example spelled with a z could lead to the nickname Liz. Spelled with an s could simply just lead to Beth as a nickname.
But I prefer S myself.
Good luck. Naming a baby is one of the toughest jobs before the baby is born!

Elisabeth because it is not a spelling that is used often and in a way her name will be unique

I prefere S. It seems less common to me. Either way its a great name. If your interested, you could look at numerology to see what the different spellings suggest to your child character (there are many websites that will do a brief one for free).
