The Exorcist, The Ring (both 1 & 2), The Grudge, Dead Birds, Dominion: Prequel to the Exorcist (or Exorcist: The Beginning. They're the same movie, but different directors.), the Exorcism of Emily Rose, and The Haunting (1968 version).

I can recommend a series of 3 films! The first is scary, the second is kind of a comedy, the third is an outright comedy!
I am of course referring to the Evil Dead and Army of Darkness movies!

Try Saw 2, Jeepers Creeper 1&2, Thirteen Ghosts, The Ring 1&2, HIde and Seek, Boogeyman, Candyman 1&2. One of them should do the trick. Older movies could include Holloween (all of them), Carrie, Hellraiser (all of them)

The Hills Have Eyes is really scary but its way to gory. I think Wrong Turn was the scariest movie I ever watched. It is pretty good.
