I went to the doctor a week ago and my cervix was thined out but they sent me home. For the last few days i have been leeking a clear slimmy fluid but today i started bearly leaking clear watery fluid. i just want to know what this is. i dont know if i should go to the hospital yet or not?

call the doc you should not be leaking anything. It can be from clear to blood.

Go to the doctor, don't chance it, if it is your amniotic fluid then you are risking infection. Call your doctor now!
Don't wait to find out, this is something that can be detrimental to your babies health! You pay the doctor and you can call them anytime you may have an emergency, that is what they are there for. If the fluid is clear and watery you need to get checked! You don't have to leak a lot for it to be amniotice fluid, and since you are only 35 weeks you need to talk to the doc NOW! Your baby could have issues simply from the early labor don't add to the risk by waiting to long and getting an infection.

Go to the hospital, you don't want to leak a lot of fluid, and if you are leaking that means infection can get to the baby. The doctors might send you home if you aren't having contractions, but at least you'll know for sure everything is okay. No one on here can tell you that.

really want answers to this I'm 29 weeks myself yesterday i had a leak that was clear but a bit slimy not a lot but, i was worried that it was amniotic fluid. I knew you can have a discharge but mine felt like a leak. It was about a half dollar size I had no other problems my baby is still very active I think I'll call my doctor tommorw i've been worried about it. PERSONALLY i think mine was just discharge it was not a lot i had no contractions or anything if it would have happend more then the one time for me i would have gone to the ER mine stopped right after it started.

GO NOW.
If you're lealking amniotic fluid (which is clear & watery), then your membranes have ruptured and you need to be dleivered in 24 hours for the safety of the baby.
If it's not, they can tell quickly with a quick little test. (They take some fluid, test it, and tell you if it's amniotic fluid or not. Takes about 5 min.)
Since your cervix has started thinning, it sounds like this may be it. Good luck!! =D

amniotic fluid is clear and can be watery or a little slimy. if you have been just leaking for a few days I suggest calling the doctor or the labor and delivery unit at your hospital for advice. Otherwise you could have what is termed a "dry birth" and although I don't know first hand I hear they are pretty painful.

it may be some discharge. I thought that my water had broken because I was leaking the clear white, kind of slimy and I went to the hospital and they told me it was discharge. They said as you get closer to labor you will produce more slimy discharge because your body is making it smooth to pass the baby. They said the amniotic fluid will be really watery and if you think its your water then put on a pad and lay down on the couch or bed for 20 min. and if you get up and its soaked then its your water, otherwise its probably discharge. Call your doc or the er, you can go in and they use this little piece of paper to find out if its amniotic fluid or not, the paper will change colors if it is. I thought the same thing only to find out my bladder was leaking! LOL Call know because if you leak to much its bad for the baby! Hope all is well Good Luck

You should be able to call a nurse on call at the hospital and they should be able to tell you if you need to come in. In general you don't want to rush right in, but if you are in fact leaking amniotic fluid you want that baby monitored. Call your hospital, they must have a nurse on call. All these fluids are hard to keep straight -- rest assured you are not the first person to call with this question!

that's what happened to me. i was leaking amniotic fluid for a week and i guess i was a little scared to go in. when i finally did, the doctor was upset. he said i could have hurt the baby. if all the fluid was gone, the baby could have gotten an infection. go see the doctor, they have a test to see what the fluid is. good luck with your baby.

I had a lot of leaking like that also through out your my pregnancy your body will go through different stages. be on the safe side discuss this with your doctor tomorrow. The doctor will do a test to see if it is your amniotic fluid and have to monitor you fro infection god luck to you and your baby
