Although it may be a good idea it is against our Constitution. Over my life span I have witnessed the Democratic party turn from actually trying to help the " Little People " to becoming a party of socialist.
On the other hand I have seen the Republican Party move to a point of being slightly to the left of where the Democrats stood in my Youth.
Their is not a truly a active Conservative group large enough in the USA to do us any good. But, what we have promoting themselves as Conservatives are our best choice at this time.
We need to convert not in the biblical sense (although that wouldn't hurt either) but, as a nation must turn around and go the other way. If we keep going to the left we will become less than a third world country. If the rate of illegal immigration is not stopped now we will reach 3rd world status in your life time if not mine.

While it is true that they are undermining nation security, the constitution allows them to do this passively. The beauty of our democracy is that we don't have to resort to the draconian measures you are suggesting. Democrats are losing ground. They've lost the White House, Capital Hill and nearly lost the Judiciary. One day the Republican party will split in two: conservatives versus moderates. The American people are tired of them offering only criticism and no solutions.
Consider the following, the internet and AM radio has broken the monopoly the left used to have on the news media. And Democratic policies such as abortion and gay marriage both serve to eliminate future voters for their party. In time they will fade away. Just be patient.

No. the Democrat party is broken and needs to be fixed. How, I haven't figured that out yet. We need two party and maybe a three party system. The Dems don't need to go the way of the Whigs; just get fixed.
