Hello,

I am a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc and to answer your question, NEITHER sorority is better that the other. Both sororities were founded on different principles and have individual mission statesments, but invariably, we both have nearly the same basic desire...to promote unity, effect positive social change, and to provide service to the communities in which we play a part.

Each of the sororities have chapters all over the world. The best place for you to find information are on the following websites:

www.aka1908.com
AND
www.deltasigmatheta.org

These are the official international websites for each organization where you will be able to find:

Founding History
Founding Members
Membership Guidelines/Requirements
FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions)
Links to Regional websites
Contact Information
Hazing Policies

Also, regarding AKA, if there are questions that you have that are not answered there and that don't fall under our sacred trusts, then you can email me at pinkpearl0872@yahoo.com and I will answer your questions or direct you the the proper source for you to get the answers that you seek to the best of my ability.

It depends they're both very popular, but most ppl go by the stereotypes of these sororities not by which one is better dark-skinned blacks will say delta and light-skin blacks will say AKA. AKA is looked at the upity, pretty, think they all that sorority and the delta as the strong, itelligent, Iam black and I'm proud sorority. Iam a light skin black mix girl and I always thought I belonged to the AKA cause the way that I looked not by any other standards, that's what I was taught it was strange to see a light skin delta there was hardly any in my day. now they might have alot, but that is the old ways in black sororities so I applaud you by searching for the one that is better for you not on which one you best fit in cause of how you look/
