A traditional Filipino wedding includes lots and lots of relative guests.. It depends whether your wife-to-be wishes the wedding ceremony to be in the church (well, it would just be a traditional ceremony involving your primary & secondary sponsors, which you choose motiff, bridal gown, entourage, etc etc). With regards to the reception, Its better to ask your fiancee if how many guests she's planning to have and where is the reception. Since a traditional Filipino cultures are so closed-knitt/ very family oriented, they are very supertitious too (these are only for oldies though), very conservative but yet friendly. You see, you do not want to disappoint your " new in-laws, uncles/ aunties or even nephews" etc.. You should smile at them every time, be one of them and feel free. A typical wedding involves dancing and well- wishers from guests, even money are being posted on the grooms' and bride's gown. It was so funny since we do not have to display our gifts right? But things changes with regards to the ceremonies. But that's how it is.. Anyway, better ask your girlfriend about that. Meantime, I wish you both all the best! By the way, I'm a Filipina so I think you're just lucky enough to have a very wonderful Filipina lady.

most philippine weddings are very grand with lots of guests...relatives and friends here and abroad. The groom wears a traditional barong tagalog...either made in pinya or the usual gusi. A traditional church wedding ceremony takes place. Also, the wedding has to take place from where your soon to be wife originated from. The reception includes a lot of food similar to a fiesta only with a layer cake. The intimate dance of the husband and wife also includes inserting money on the grooms or the brides dress while they dance. Congratulations to you and best wishes to your soon to be wife.

Philippine wedding has fiesta atmosphere, if you know what I mean. Your guests include relatives up to 4th civil degree of affinity and consanguinity, friends, neighbors, and friends of neighbors. Once married, you are married to that same Filipina lady in your lifetime.
Welcome to the Club.

It's depends what kind of person your marrying if they have lots of friends maybe it should be a big wedding. Some are very simple some are very fancy. If I were you I would ask her what she wants.
