A minor cannot legally enter into a contract. The contract must be signed by a parent or guardian.

If persons under the age of 18 enter into a legal documented contract, that contract then becomes void. There is no way around it. If a person under the age of 18 enters in a contract, and the person the contract is with is not upheld, it is useless in court.

I hope this helps.

the particular age that is considered a miner is different for boys and for girls, That also differs from state to state however I don't know of any us state that acknowledges a contract signed by a minor as binding. If you lie about your age you can be charged with Theft by deception. If the adult knows you are underage and encourages you to enter into this agreement then he is at fault and can be charged with contributing to the deliquenc of a minor. you THe Adult can also be charged with endangering the well being of a minor or Willful collusion to commit fraud involving a minor.

Not illegal, just not valid or enforcable... unless (maybe) the minor is an emancipated minor- for example a 17-yr-old who has gone to court and the judge has declared him/her an "adult"-- I don't know about voting, but they can hold a 40-hr/week job, sign contracts, can be allowed to not attend school, etc.

Some states classify girls who have gotten pregnant and had the baby as legal adults...

You can not sign a contract unless you are 18 or over. It is not valid and will not hold up if it is signed.

I think it depends on the type of contract. Check with a lawyer; or maybe your parents.
