Hansel and Gretel were abandoned in the woods by their woodcutter father under orders from their cruel stepmother. They found a gingerbread house and were invited in by an old woman but discovered the woman was a witch who intended to cook and eat them, so they tricked the witch and shoved her into the oven to burn up. Hansel and Gretel lived happily after that until the Nuremberg trials.
