For eight years Republicans savaged Bill Clinton for "gutting" the military. When Bush took over he did not raise the force levels of the military by a single soldier. Even after 9-11, he still did not increase the size of the US Military and now claims that the current force levels are adequate for fighting in Afghanistan, Iraq and, should it prove necessary, Korea. Were Republicans lying for eight years, or have they been lying for the last four?

the down sizing was put into law! they used the surplus from the downsizing for weapons upgrades and the such,we still have a all volunteer army! we do have enough to control a situation should it arise but the left wouldn't be able to handle what is necessary to win.. they would be screaming murderer worst than they are now! war is ugly,it is a fact of life..we have 30,000 troops currently in south korea, part of a permanent force!

The military has been consistantly meeting their recruitment goals. Clinton shut down bases all over the country, which is where he got all the money he brags about. Clinton also gave North Korea the nuclear technology with the help of your buddy Jimmy Carter. Clinton also sold both entrances to the Panama canal to China, I guess your buddies at the New York Times forgot to bring that up. We are at war with terrorists that Clinton didn't want to deal with, which is why 9-11 happened in the first place. Bush has had to spend a lot of money protecting us by fighting these wackos over there instead of them coming here and you liberals are so hell bent on hate for Bush that you don't even appreciate it. Research your facts instead of believing what the liberal media is force feeding you. You people keep saying you support the troops. Try to find one heroic thing even one of our troops have done in the media. I'll bet you can't find one. Even an idiot should know that somethings up with that.

All politician lie. They just word everything so amibuously that people tend to believe they are telling the truth. Bill Clinton reduced the national debt from $7 trillion dollars to zero during his time in office and no matter what else he did during his terms of Presidency he did more for the United States than any other President before or after with just than one accomplishment. One year after Bush was in office the national debt rose to over $3 trillion dollars and nothing was done to alleviate the pain and suffering of the American people. So, my question to you, is why is Bill Clinton labeled by the Republicans and even some Democrats as the worst President?

Republicans blame Clinton for 9/11 , supply a pass to Bush on the economic device and Blame all of it on Obama? confident. additionally they blame the 1982-1993 recession on Jimmy Carter, FDR for beginning WW2, the great melancholy on Woodrow Wilson, the great sank because of the fact of Grover Cleveland ... George W. Bush could have looked like the stupidest guy to be president, yet he did practice some evil intelligence whilst he quoted his hero, Adolph Hitler, " in case you tell a lie many times sufficient it is going to become the certainty."

You Rep's keep saying it was Clinton's fault that 9/11 happened. Do you not remember a little Reagan thing called the Iran/Contra affair in which he sold weapons to them - and convieniently forgot or "did not recall" doing?

No, that's way off. See, the problem was that funding was not going towards defense, or towards VA, or towards veterans' medical care.
It has nothing to do with the size of the military.
9/11 caused a lot of soldiers to enlist. Many friends of my husband's and mine are among those.
That's why we have enough now.

What do you base this on ? You don't think that right after 9/11 that recruitment took a turn in the upward direction?

Let's blame Reagan, than Bush 41, not Clinton and now Bush 43.

Rather than blaming and name calling why don't you talk about solutions and resolve.
