The earth revolving around its axis...when you see the sun, the earth is turned toward the sun....when its dark, the earth is turned away from the sun

The earth spins at aproximately 1000 mph
distance around the earth's equater is 24,901 mi.
The sun shines down on half the earth's surface at a time and in aprox. 12 hours the earth would turn around to the other side where the sun's light is not shining turning day into night.

Cripes, the sun can't shine on both sides of the world at once - its a ball. Try to shine a flashlight on both sides of a ball. Not difficult to comprehend, is it? (You're not a flat Earther, are you?)

Twilight happens because even when the sun has set or hasn't risen, its light still lingers on the upper atmosphere and reflects down to the surface.

If you were on the moon, it would become pitch black as soon as the sun set below the horizon.

as you may know earth orbits around itself . and we also orbiting around sun . but the speed it turns around itself is about 30kilometers per second !and a whole orbiting takes 24 hour . that means a day . in comparison to orbiting around sun it is too quick so imagine the side of the earth which is faces to sun it is day for this side . then it turns and another side will face the sun . this side of earth just came out of the dark . that means they have sunrise !! so the day begins . for the other side it will be night because they are at the back side of the earth . i hope this helps !

This happens because the Earth is revolving on its axis. When it is day here we are facing the sun. When it is night we aren't facing the sun.
