He ain't heavy He's my brother. The Osmand brothers remade this song in the 70's but it was not released as a single from
them. The Hollies did it first and it was written by Bill Medley.

He Ain't Heavy.. It was written about two boys at Boys Town New Mexico. A place where orphaned boy go. A black boy got blisters on his feet while they were out walking, so his white friend was carrying him on his back and the counselor asked him if he needed help, and the kid answered "no, he ain't heavy, he's my brother.

There ya go...I was raised near there.
