from birth.
Studies show that if a newborn is placed, from birth, onto the mothers chest in a dim room it will lay and look into her face for nearly half and hour without moving. From that point on it can reconize her, her smell, and even her voice (heard from the womb).

usually around 1-2 months they can see you and another strong face, such as dad, or sibling, or care-giver. And at this point they usually start smiling, and will smile when smiled at. Its a happy time for everyone.

approximately 24 months they realize it somewhat is them in the mirrored photograph. He thinks it somewhat is yet another little one in the reflect. Self awarness isn't for an prolonged time yet. they have accomplished examine. toddlers won't understand to wipe a smudge off their nostril and so on. while seeing it in a reflect till approximately 2 years previous. till then, they simply think of it somewhat is another baby. My twins have only started somewhat smiling at one yet another over the final week. they're 4 months previous and have been born at 38 weeks. Monty esp. smiles at Vaughn, yet Vaughn only form of seems back at him. Monty seems to be finding for extra of a reaction then Vaughn is at the instant keen to furnish him! they have had a pair of "conversations" besides over the final week. 3.5 months is only too early to be self conscious, despite if this is the perfect age to renowned yet another little one.

Experts say that a baby can recognise it's mother immediately after birth.
(no spell check, I haven't spelled "recognise" wrong. I'm English)

my son is 7.5 weeks old and he knows me...... he will smile when he sees me after a nap or in the mornings or just when he wants to be played with...... he also love to look at my face when he is eating..... i guess it really just depends on how much quality time you spend bonding with your child.... but remember each baby is different.....
