Kaiser Wilhelm didn't start it. His assassination is what they say started it.

the person who was assassinated was Franz Ferdinand, not Kaiser Wilhelm.

Maybe some Americans/British think that the Kaiser started the war. If they think that, the reason is that Germany was the main enemy.
