Rerouting a river for construction, roads will change the flow. Narrowing the river will do the same. Slow flow rate may result in contaminants high concentration, dissolved oxygen level drop. Bunch of things. High flow rates will result in erosion, distruction along the paths etc..... blah blah blah blah
