Because Bush controls everything. Didn't you know that? Don't worry Carla, they'll come up with some response in accusing Bush with being in league with all the other oil companies. That is a good question though. Republicans again in 2008!
Arafat. He had nothing to do with oil. What are they talking about?

i believe that human beings blame Bush for quite a few reasons. First, he has direct and incontrovertiable ties to grease agencies that create, a minimum of, an phantasm of impropriety. 2d, he's incharge and subsequently, no count if it quite is his fault or not, whilst he ran for President he had to settle for that he gets the two the credit and the blame for successes and mess united statesno count if he's in charge in any respect. quite frankly, in simple terms like the captain of a deliver, the President gets all of the blame for a fashion issues are entering into usa, stable or undesirable, because of the fact it quite is his accountability to manage and lead and no person elses. He signed up for it. 0.33, U.S. intervention in Iraq is seen, no count if justly or not, as a key explanation for the upward thrust in oil costs. Fourth, Bush heads the international's best financial gadget and maximum efficient militia. subsequently, he includes a huge stick. i think of on some point, human beings see Bush's inactivity as a loss of worrying or refusal to do something to help them. American's know we've the huge stick and that they see Bush unwilling to apply it, and that they ask your self, 'you are the guy who's so not common on terror and keen to project all human beings on that concern, yet you will not help the worry-unfastened Joe by utilising taking the huge stand on oil costs with those terrorist countries like Saudi Arabia?' 5th, i think of the reality that oil agencies are posting checklist breaking earnings is seen to be tied directly to the government, no count if or not that's genuine.

Of course! Bush is responsible for all the bad things that happen. I saw one liberal on here that actually claimed that Bush single handily brought gas prices down right before the election. Yet, most of them claim that Bush is dumber than dirt. Maybe it was that mastermind Cheney behind it. Muhahaha!

Well, I guess you have been watching Fox news again.

I lived in Germany as a US soldier, the reason the price is high is because of the heavy tax on it. It is a way to cut down driving.

Bush has the control to keep the middle east in a uproar, that raises the price of oil, without adding overhead. Before our clueless Leader marched into Iraq, Iraq was selling oil cheaply, causing the price to drop. Now Iraq has it's oil pumps turned off, that is causing a shortage, raising the gas prices even more.

80% tax on petrol in the UK is why it's $7 a gallon, but it's much higher octane and our Imperial gallons are bigger so I get 57 mpg in my Diahatsu w. a lead foot, you can still drive 100 on the motorways here and usually get away w. it.
The UK is still a net exporter of oil so we gain as a whole on the world oil markets being out of control, the point is that as a net importer the US naturally wants control, but you need to be able to win wars for that.

Straw man argument: Bush haters despise him as a liar, not for raising oil prices. If low oil prices make for a good country then move to Venezuela, where you can fill up your Hummer for $5.00.

The political and economic systems in Europe are different than in the US. The US has more freedom, which tends to encourage new companies and innovation, with the idea that a dynamic economy will provide opportunities for all. Europe has more security, with the idea that minimizing economic disruptions for workers is the best way to provide for them.

Either system is endangered when led by someone who intentionally and repeatedly lies to the electorate.

Wow. . . Rhodes Scholar, aren't you?

Oil prices are set for COUNTRIES - the consumption is the key. The more you use, the lower the price (buying in bulk - see Wal-Mart). If the price is too high, the US (one of the - if not THE - highest consumption country on the earth) stops doing business with you. Losing your biggest account will surely make things more difficult.

One has nothing to do with the other, so who is the "rocket scientist"????

The price for gas in those countries has always been high due to high taxes. The recent price drops in the U.S have happened because the oil companies are using them as an under-the-table contribution to the Republicans which they plan to get back with interest after the elections, no matter who wins.

Bush isn't in control over oil prices. The oil companies are in control of the prices. The oil companies realize that people will vote for the party in that is currently in control if the people feel comfortable with their lot in life, economy, etc. So, one way to get people to feel comfortable is to lower gas prices, which we are all dependent on in the US. That is why the prices are lower than they have been...because we are nearing the election. They will go up after the election. They love Bush and his party because he fights wars for them.
