That's just it, they weren't verified by all the top experts in the CIA and top experts in Nuclear, Chemical and Biological warfare. Saddam did have WMDs in the 1990s and that was confirmed by the CIA. The problem was these same experts assumed that he had those same WMDs right before the start of the Iraq war but he didn't. Saddam did everything in his power to make the US think he had WMDs because he still needed to scare his own people like the Kurds and the Shia from attacking him and that made the CIA think that he still had WMDs even more but again he was lying. So in the end I don't think Powell was lying to us about WMDs but he was still wrong and thus was the US Govt.

The US govt has been lying for 225 years or so...what make you think they would stop now? Colin Powell was the weak link in that whole WMD fabrication...it's amazing how people like you can be presented with the truth, with someone actually admitting that they lied, and you still don't get it? You are either in bed with Rupert Murdoch or extremely naive. Wake up, they lied. In front of the whole UN, the whole world, and everyone's mother.

regrettably, as many of the responses you have won practice, some persons will have self assurance something they are advised by using the government, even whilst the info, publicised international, practice they have been lied to. some human beings are incapable of even the main ordinary examination of the info provided to them. My toddler asks extra probing questions than those a lot of those self proclaimed patriots. optimistically, the british public have an prolonged reminiscence and could no longer forget the deception so right now. wherein case, the U. S. would be on it is own in Iran. little doubt all the 'patriots' on right here would be becoming to be a member of up any day now.

Colin Powell knew he was lying when he presented the Bush regime's case for invading Iraq to the U.N.. He has ruined his career by wearing Bush's butt cheeks as ear-muffs. Now why can't you admit the truth, THE BUSH GOVERNMENT LIED.

because it's story kept changing. Pre 9/11, the same people insisted Iraq had no WMDs. Then the post 9/11 evidence turned outto be part-fabrication, part pre-1991 out-of-date material.
the 'expert' verification, remember, came from different branches of the gov't... the same gov't caught doctoring up scientific reports to fit its political goals.
This is but the tip of the iceberg; there's lies about Katrina, Halliburton, Enron, and many other things.
So how do we know when thay make more lies? It's a good bet they're lying if their lips move.

Did you see Powell's interview about a year ago, when he said he was sorry about that speech and all the mistakes in it, and that he knew he wasn't telling the whole truth.
Why are you defending the reason for going into Iraq, are you enjoying it, why don't you enlist that way you can enjoy it more.

Because the government is run by politicians and there is a general consensus that all politicians lie to some extent, so therefore the government lied.
