They're pretty darn accurate! In fact, the home pregnancy tests only differ from the ones in your doctor's office in price and packaging. Because they're manufactured with the plastic wands and the sophisticated display mechanisms, we end up paying more for the same chemistry. If you purchase the dipping sticks used in the doctor's office (available online), you can feel assured that you're getting the same results for less money.

They're just as accurate as the ones you take at the doctor's office. False negatives are possible if it's taken too early. One it's positive, you're pregnant. The only test more accurate is a blood test.

They are really accurate if you follow the directions properly do two test if they come back positive go see your doctor for a blood test to be absolutely sure. I did two tests at home and they both came back positive after one minute. I am now 35 weeks pregnant and things are getting exciting good luck to you.

I took the same test at home that the doctor gave me, was just a simple pee test. They are pretty accurate, over 99% I would say. All depends on how much of the hormone you are producing.

They're extremely accurate now. Human error will obviously affect the outcome, but when doctors do a urine test, they're basically doing the same thing (and eliminating that human error). Keep in mind that women have the hormone in their body in differing amounts, and it may be too early to detect the hormone. Wait until your period is late before taking a test. Good luck with whatever outcome you want. :)

Very accurate. Any doctor will tell you--you might get a false negative (if it's too early, or if the test is faulty) but you won't get a false positive.

My doctor said that most of the HPTs are junk. They advertise that you can test 5 days before your period, but most women don't have enough HCG (the pregnancy hormone) yet. You should try EPT. This is one of the only tests that actually detects the smallest amount of HCG.
