Open the file, click File - Save As

Right below the box where you type in the name, you will find the drop down list box with all the supported formats you can save the file in. Save the file in a different name, in another format.

Usually RTF (Rich Text Format) can be opened by most programs.

You did not tell us what format that you started with and what format that you want to change it TOO. Some people don't have Word. Some people don't Open attachments.

Here is what I recommend.

Open the Document, so you can see it. Highlight everything (or use SELECT ALL from the EDIT menu) and use COPY from EDIT menu. Then open a new (blank) email. Click on the large message box. Then pick PASTE from the Edit menu.

Address the email with the whole document in the email message, add a SUBJECT line, so they know that it is important. then hit SEND.

great question and i would vote on you for best qquestion! what you do is go to the top of your page where it says File, Edit, View, Favorites, Tools or Help then click one of them and look at the things that can help you or if you do not understand this then you can go to help and they will tell you!! Easiest thing is to bring up the document and SAVE AS... HTML... anyone can open that. People don't use it enough. That way you won't have to worry about what software she has.
