I'm thinking of trading in my Nintendo DS and the four games I have for it so I can start shaving up for a PSP, but I'm still not sure if I should do it or not. What should I do?

PSP, much better, better games and more options than ds............(but get the "wii" if your choosing between PS3 or Wii)

I currently own a DS, and have played/watched/listened to the PSP. I would say hang onto your DS. I'm not a fan of trading anything in really, in any case, because if you look back on the Atari and Commodore, and all kinds of other systems that people could have sold or somehow got rid of, now they're worth way more money than then. Also, retailers don't give you nearly what the games/systems are worth when you trade them in.

Be wary if you do decide to trade your DS in for anything else, because you may be able to sell it on eBay or somewhere else for more than what they'll give you to trade it in.

To get to the main question, both are good portable systems. The DS is unique because of the stylus action, which is awesome, but you do mostly have the more juvenile titles. I do like that you can get versions of old Nintendo stuff for the DS, like Super Mario Brothers. The PSP is more versatile because of the ability to watch videos and listen to music, so you get more functionality out of your PSP. So, either one, really! :)

Ummm i think it really depends on your taste for games.
Both systems have different line ups in terms of games thus offer totally different game play experiences.

Also for the DS there is the novelty of the touch screen based games. For the PSP I think the biggest advantage is that it is essentially a mini PS... although loading time has been a big issue for some games...

I would suggest hold on to your DS first and go to some stores or maybe a friend to take the PSP out for a spin before doing the trade in...

Personally I chose the PSP over the DS mainly bec of the multimedia power :)

well, I have a PSP, my kids have DS's.

A lot of it will depend upon what you want to do. Are you just going to play games, or will you want to watch movies with it as well?

Also, if there are some "must play" games for you on the DS - then you'll probably want to stick with that.

Personally, I think the PSP is a little more "grown up" than a DS - which has always seemed like more of a kids platform than the PSP.

They both have their plusses and minuses - so it really comes down to what you plan on doing - playing games (and which games will you want to play) and watching movies?

Personally, I'd say go with the PSP.

But that's just me!

i c it like this, i have a psp but was thinkin of trading it in 4 a ds BUT, honestly id rather have both bcuz 2 me ds has a much larger and more familar game line up then does psp however it cant play movies plus the web browser feature ive heard about 4 ds will take like 6 minutes 2 load 1 page! thats insane, but about the psp u cant go 2 every website bcuz unless u invest in an expensive memory stick sum pages wont load all the way and it tells u,"not enough mem." but thats like myspace pages and such things with lots of graphics... also, major movie labels apparently r goin 2, or already have stopped even making the umd's that psp uses for playback so that creates more limits. so really it depends if ud rather have more games DS, limited movies, music, and sum web access- psp. like i said id try 4 both! i wouldnt trade.

The psp is a multimedia machine not a video game system (in my opinion) I think that DS has much better game play but less graphics and of course the touch screen is pretty d,a,m sweet so if you want a gaming system stick wit ds want multimedia go for psp

personaly i have both so booyahh (jk no offence)

(psp games are "O.K." like battle front 2 that and owsome fps and graphics and sound is finaminal but most the other games suck.) psp is better for what i do but what ever you may like will differ from person to person.

I have a guy yelling over my shoulder that you should definitely go PSP. He was ALL about the DS and was telling me how bad of an idea it was for to buy a PSP. Then he started glancing over at my PSP and finally decided that the "draw this to proceed" was a dumb idea. He converted and hasn't questioned it yet.......definitely PSP
